“Office” Actor Stand-Up In Philadelphia This Week

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Craig Robinson, the comedian who plays warehouse supervisor Darryl Philbin on the NBC comedy, performs tonight through Saturday at Helium (2031 Sansom).

Robinson, who can be seen in theaters in “Zack and Miri Make a Porno,” said his act is “very musical,” with audience participation. He tries to play a couple of shows each month, but his busy shooting schedule on “The Office” makes that difficult. As for his character, who was recently freed from the clingy Kelly Kapoor (played by Mindy Kaling), Robinson said, “I don’t know what they have in store for me. “I’m as excited as everyone else to see what’s next for Darryl.”

The comic actor is happy that his recent drug-possession charge has been dropped. In August he pleaded guilty in Los Angeles to a felony after he was pulled over for a traffic violation and police found Ecstasy pills in his car. The case was cleared in September after Robinson completed a court-ordered drug program.

His upcoming movies include “Playboys,” “Night at the Museum 2,” and “The Goods.” For tickets for this week’s shows, click here.

Jennaphr Frederick Of Fox 29 Is Pregnant

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

Fox 29’s Jennaphr Frederick is pregnant.

Frederick, mother of a 3-year-old son, Brody, and husband, Steve, who is “some kind of computer guy,” she says, are expecting a child in the spring.

The couple haven’t yet told Brody about his upcoming brother or sister. “Someone mentioned Santa Claus in late August and every day he’s been asking when Santa is coming, so we figured we’d wait, but we are excited he’s gonna have a little buddy,” Frederick said. She doesn’t plan to discuss her pregnancy on “Good Day Philadelphia,” because “as crazy as I am on TV, I like to tell everyone about other people’s news. I don’t really like to talk about myself.

“People might wonder why I’m fat,” says Frederick, a native of Clearwater, Fla., where the Phillies spring-train.

There is no word on whether she’ll be leaving us in a sexy Halloween costume, but Halloween will be the last day for traffic anchor Dorothy Krysiuk’s at Fox 29, a station spokeswoman confirmed on October 20th. Sources say that Krysiuk, who has worked early morning hours at Fox since 2001, wants to take a break from television and that the desire to not renew her contract was mutual. We have tried to make contact with her agent Lloyd Zane Remick, but he was not immediately available for comment.

Funds will benefit Obama for America, the Obama Victory Fund, and the DNC.

It was Talabani, not al-Maliki

Friday, September 19th, 2008

We misidentified the Iraqi dignitary who was lunching today at Le-Bec Fin (1523 Walnut). It was not Iraq Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, at Le-Bec Fin as we had reported, but rather Iraq’s President Jalal Talabani, who lunched at the restaurant while an army of security waited outside.

Nouri al-Maliki Lunching at Le-Bec Fin (Updated, it wasn’t him)

Friday, September 19th, 2008

Iraq Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, was seen lunching at Le-Bec Fin (1523 Walnut) while passing through town on his way from Washington to New York. Outside Georges Perrier’s culinary landmark are state trooper cars, several black SUVs and more than a dozen security-types milling about with earpieces and more guards inside the restaurant.
