He proposed Thursday night (October 9th) along Boathouse Row and the couple traveled to Boston to celebrate with McCarthy’s family. Stead’s family also joined in on the celebration. McCarthy, who’s sporting a sweet rock from Tiffany says they haven’t gotten too far in the wedding plans yet. “I feel like I’m perpetually glowing,” says McCarthy, about her post-engagement bliss.

McCain’s Aunt Thinks He’s Losing

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

John McCain’s Aunt Rowena had an exclusive interview with The Daily Beast on October 15th. What was said in this interview? Well, here’s something we could start with, “He’s losing,” Rowena Willis, John McCain’s 96 year old aunt said.

Mrs. Willis says her sister has been distraught over her son’s campaign. The twins have been speaking regularly on the phone, trading assessments of the McCain campaign.

Mrs. Willis also states: Obama “says he wants change, but change to what? Taking money from the rich and giving it to the poor, that’s what it’s going to be.”

Hmmm…interesting.

Lawsuit Against God Thrown Out

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

Oh geeze…

A judge has thrown out a Nebraska legislator’s lawsuit against God, saying the Almighty wasn’t properly served due to his unlisted home address. State Senator Ernie Chambers filed the lawsuit last year seeking a permanent injunction against God.

Are you freakin’ serious?

The Senator said that God had made terroristic threats against the senator and his constituents in Omaha, inspired fear and caused “widespread death, destruction and terrorization of millions upon millions of the Earth’s inhabitants.”

The Senator said that he filed the lawsuit to make the point that everyone should have access to the courts regardless of whether they are rich or poor.

…what?

It Will Take You 4 Hours To Vote

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

KYW 1060 has reported that too many people have registered to vote, and as a result, there will be ridiculously long lines.

The Committee of 70 says 16 divisions in the city are way beyond the state limit for number of registered voters.

The group’s policy director, Sarah Stevenson, says those divisions are in center city, near Penn and Drexel in West Philly, and in the northeast: “The threshold in the state election code is 1200 voters per division. Some divisions here are just over 1,200, but some have three times as many voters.

The city says it can’t split the divisions this late in the game.

This is going to be a pain in the ass.

Father Names Baby Sarah Palin

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

An idiotic new daddy secretly named his newborn baby girl Sarah McCain Palin. He says it was his way to help the “cause”.

Mark Ciptak of Elizabethton, TN, put that name on the legal documents for the girl’s birth certificate, ignoring the name Ava Grace, which he and his wife had picked earlier.

The Republican supporter said, “I don’t think she believes me yet. It’s going to take some more convincing.. I can’t give a lot of financial support for the McCain/Palin campaign. I do have a sign up in my yard, but I can do very little.”

This just shows how stupid some Republicans are.

Palin Will Drop First Puck At Flyers Opener

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

Here we go, let the “Hockey Mom” jokes begin. Sarah Palin will be dropping the puck at the Flyers opener.

Comcast Spectacor’s press release says otherwise; they must just be pulling our chain. An excerpt:

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, the nation’s most popular hockey mom, will join the winner of the Philadelphia Flyers regional search for the “Ultimate Hockey Mom” contest and drop the puck at the ceremonial opening face-off as the home team Flyers host the New York Rangers at the Wachovia Center on Saturday, October 11 at 7 p.m.

“Because of the tremendous amount of publicity she has brought to our sport, we invited the most popular hockey mom in North America to our home opener to help us get our season started,” said Comcast-Spectacor Chairman Ed Snider who founded the Flyers in 1967. “We are very excited she has accepted our offer and we are very proud of the publicity she is generating for hockey moms and the sport of hockey.”

See, they’re bringing out a regular hockey mom along with Palin so you can’t boo her. Also, why only a regional search for the Ultimate Hockey Mom? Pretty soon John McCain’s going to suspend his campaign to say we should only vote in Alaska.

Hell, I can’t afford to go to Alaska to vote.

McCain and Palin will appear at a rally at Lehigh University in Bethlehem on Wednesday afternoon.

On Saturday morning, Palin will be at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena in Johnstown for another rally. She’s also expected at a fundraising dinner in Pittsburgh on Friday evening.

Child Goes On Crazy Zoo Rampage

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

Holycrap! A seven year old boy broke into the Alice Springs Reptile Centre in Australia, fed a string of animals to the resident crocodile, and bashed several lizards to death with a rock.

The thirty minute rampage, caught on the zoo’s security camera, happened early Wednesday after the boy jumped a security fence.

The child then went on a killing spree, bashing three lizards to death with a rock, including the zoo’s beloved, twenty year old goanna, which he then fed to “Terry,” an eleven foot, four hundred and forty pound saltwater crocodile.

The boy also fed several live animals to Terry by throwing them over the two fences surrounding the crocodile’s enclosure, at one point climbing over the outer fence to get closer to the giant reptile.

That is unbelievable!

By the time he was done, thirteen animals worth around $5,500 had been killed, including a turtle, bearded dragons, and thorny devil lizards. Although none were considered rare, some are difficult to replace.

Alice Springs police said they are unable to press charges against the boy because of his age. Children under age ten can’t be charged with criminal offenses in the Northern Territory. His name was not released because of his age.

The centre plans to sue the boy’s parents.

The boy’s small size is probably the reason he didn’t trip the zoo’s security system, which relies on sensors to detect intruders.

BREAKING: U.S. House Has Passed The Bail Out Bill

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

That’s right! The house passed the $700 billion financial bailout bill in an effort to bring stability to reeling financial markets.

Prior to the official passing of the bill, member after member went to the well of the chamber to voice discomfort and displeasure with many aspects of the bailout legislation. But they also said said they would vote for it anyway. And nearly 30 who voted against it on Monday said they had changed their minds.

President Bush was ready to sign it into law, and the Dow Jones industrial average on Wall Street was up in early trading in anticipation of the climactic vote.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called it a vote for “Mr. and Mrs. Jones on Main Street.”
