Penn Kids Get McDonald’s Workers Fired

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

A group of Penn kids had a bad experience at the McDonald’s at 40th and Walnut the on October 28th. This happens nearly every night, because when drunk kids from North Jersey and Long Island meet night shift workers making somewhere around minimum wage, no good things can happen.

Thanks to this being our modern era of technology, the Penn kids then made a group on Facebook imploring students to boycott McDonald’s.

Thank to their little boycott, several workers at McDonald’s have been fired.

Wharton sophomore Keith Williams, who witnessed the incident, explained that he and a group of friends entered the McDonald’s that morning so his friend, a College junior who did not wish to be included in the article, could use the restroom.

The security guard told them that the friend was not allowed to use the restroom until he ordered food. The student proceeded to order a meal, Williams said, but the cashier made a mistake and needed an override from the shift manager.

Because the friend had already complained about the service, the manager on duty “deliberately told [the cashier] to take her time,” explained Williams. When he complained again, the security guard jumped in and began threatening the students.

The guard said things like “don’t make me take you out of here,” and referred to the rest of the customers as “stupid school kids,” Williams said. The cashier also screamed at the students for standing too close while trying to read the menu, Williams added.

So - I know what you’re thinking: This is the greatest McDonald’s of all time and it is totally worth eating their disgusting food to support it. Apparently, though, the McDonald’s caved to the record seventeen complaints about its service and fired some people. For shame, McDonald’s.

Quotables

“I think what has been striking in this campaign is the the degree to which these kind of hate groups have been marginalized. That’s not who America is. That’s not who our future is. What I’ve found is people here don’t care what color you are. What they’re trying to figure out is who can deliver. It’s just like the Pittsburgh Steelers: they don’t care what color you are, they just want to figure out, can you make the plays?”

BREAKING: ATF Ruins Skinhead Plot To Kill Obama

Monday, October 27th, 2008

Federal agents have broken up a plot to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate 102 black people in a Tennessee murder spree.

In court records unsealed today, federal agents said they disrupted plans to rob a gun store and target a predominantly African-American high school by two neo-Nazi skinheads. Agents said the skinheads did not identify the school by name.

Jim Cavanaugh, special agent in charge of the Nashville field office for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, said the two men planned to shoot 88 black people and decapitate another 14. The numbers 88 and 14 are symbolic in the white supremacist community.

The men also sought to go on a national killing spree, with Obama as its final target, Cavanaugh told The Associated Press.

“They said that would be their last, final act - that they would attempt to kill Sen. Obama,” Cavanaugh said. “They didn’t believe they would be able to do it, but that they would get killed trying.”

Thank god the ATF solved this. People need to get out of the ignoramus dark ages.

Also, come check out the discussion of ignorance and the 2008 presidential campaign.

McCain Adviser Is Voting For Obama

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

Things are getting worse for the John McCain campaign.

Harvard Law Professor Charles Fried - who has been one of the most prominent conservative thinkers in the country and served as Solicitor General of the United States under Reagan - announced that he’s cast his vote for Barack Obama in an absentee ballot.

Fried also asked to be removed from several campaign-related committees on which he served and stated that his reason for voting Democrat was “the choice of Sarah Palin at a time of deep national crisis.”

Fried is one of McCain’s actual advisers.

Students In Trouble For “Hit A Jew Day”

Friday, October 24th, 2008

At least four students from a suburban St. Louis middle school are facing punishment for allegedly hitting Jewish classmates during what they called “Hit a Jew Day.”

Are you kidding me?

The incident happened last week at Parkway West Middle School in Chesterfield.

District officials said Thursday they believe that fewer than 10 children of the district’s 35 Jewish students were struck.

District spokesman Paul Tandy said that in most cases, the students were hit on the back of their shoulders but one student was slapped in the face.

It began with an unofficial “Spirit Week” among sixth-graders that started harmlessly enough with a “Hug a Friend Day.” Then there was “High Five Day.”

Soon, though, the days moved from friendly to silly. Next there was “Hit a Tall Person Day” and, finally, “Hit a Jew Day.”

District officials believe a handful of children were directly involved. Those who actually struck classmates could face suspension and required counseling, Tandy said. Others who weren’t directly involved but taunted Jewish students or egged on classmates could face lesser penalties.

“There is a mix of sadness and outrage,” Tandy said. “The concern is a lot of kids knew about it and they didn’t take action or say anything.”

Karen Aroesty, St. Louis regional director of the Anti-Defamation League, said this was more than a case of bullying. Officials from the group will meet Friday with district leaders to discuss the matter.

Dorothy Krysiuk Leaving Fox 29 On Halloween

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

There is no word on whether she’ll be leaving us in a sexy Halloween costume, but Halloween will be the last day for traffic anchor Dorothy Krysiuk’s at Fox 29, a station spokeswoman confirmed on October 20th. Sources say that Krysiuk, who has worked early morning hours at Fox since 2001, wants to take a break from television and that the desire to not renew her contract was mutual. We have tried to make contact with her agent Lloyd Zane Remick, but he was not immediately available for comment.

Kirsch Faces 5 Years In Prison

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

Do you remember Jocelyn Kirsch? Well - she’s going to jail for five years.

Jocelyn Kirsch, who is the “Bonnie” of the Center City couple dubbed “Bonnie and Clyde,” will spend most of her twenties in federal prison.

Kirsch, twenty three years old, was sentenced to five years in prison and five years supervised release. She was also ordered to pay $101,033 in restitution.

Kirsch and her boyfriend, Edward Anderton, pleaded guilty to stealing the identities and credit cards of unsuspecting neighbors, co-workers and friends. They used that information to run up bills of more than $100,000, living a lavish lifestyle, traveling the world.

Anderton is scheduled to be sentenced next month.

Kirsch turned herself in during July to begin getting credit for time served. She must serve at least four more years of her five year sentence before being eligible for parole. Kirsch will likely spend her sentence at a federal prison in California, close to her mother’s home.
